Congressman Cook visits Ft. Irwin National Training CenterCongressman Cook visited Ft. Irwin National Training Center to observe the U.S. Army execute complex joint training exercises with the U.S. Navy. This base has been an integral part of the United States counterinsurgency operations since September 11, 2001 and continues to be transformed to reflect the rapidly changing battlefields faced by our servicemembers. We're lucky to have it in the 8th District.

WASHINGTON – Rep. Paul Cook (R-Apple Valley) announced today that funding from the federal government to fight COVID-19 is on the way in the form of U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grants. In the CARES Act, which was signed into law last week, HUD received $12.4 billion and has already allocated more than $3 billion of that in these initial grants.

Paul Cook (R-Apple Valley) supported the legislation, which was enacted into law after the President signed it. One key component of the bill includes direct cash assistance, also known as recovery rebates.
WASHINGTON –The House of Representatives passed HR 748, The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. The bill, which passed the Senate late on Wednesday March 27, passed the House with overwhelming bipartisan support. It now heads to President Donald Trump where he is expected to sign the bill into law.
